My fault: otherlanguage not a command, but also an environment, so you
can replace \begin{greek} ... \end{greek} with
\begin{otherlanguage}{greek} ... \end{otherlanguage}.
For words of small passages you can use \foreignlanguage{greek}{χαλεπὰ
τὰ καλά} instead.
