Can't you use it as with any other? (I realize I'm missing parts of this
post, so sorry if this is irrelevant). I'm on a Mac, and I'm not sure if
I can even install a .pfb font file --- but I *know* I can use it with
something like this in the preamble:
\newfontfamily\trypfb[ExternalLocation=/Users/frmichael/fontinfo/UNfonts/Erasmus/]{ERASMUS}
Be sure to put the final slash before closing the bracket --- and you
don't need the extension either, AFAIK.
