So I tried to reproduce this, and I can reproduce it with TL 2013 and 2014 binaries (but those have no debug symbols so can’t really pinpoint the source of the slowness). However, I can’t reproduce it with binaries built from latest sources, so whatever was the issue seems to be fixed now.
