Thanks for the reply.  The helper app that we are using isn't the problem.
 We eliminated that as the possible source of the problem by performing
various tests.

We aren't given the option to open the file with an app or save the file.
We think it might be something in the way it is being sent to the browser,
since opening up a .docx file through the browser in an email client
(gmail) works as expected.

Do you have any other ideas why this isn't working for us when we get the
expected results when opening up an MS Word generated .docx file through
the browser on other sites?

Any help you can give would be much appreciated.
