For now I added the script and the config file into the thunar Wiki: https://docs.xfce.org/xfce/thunar/tumbler#customized_thumbnailers I am not sure if both files should be automatically provided by Tumbler or, shipped by distributions .. best open a new bug on Tumbler to further discuss it there.
