--- Comment #2 from Jay Philips <[email protected]> --- Ctrl + A works if you are in the trash folder, but if you are right-clicking on the trash on the desktop or in the side pane, you aren't necessarily in the trash folder, where 'Empty Trash' appears in the context menu.
