You're in the right place. A couple of days ago, the previously
private [EMAIL PROTECTED] bug report email address was turned
into a public list, and all public XFree86 mailing lists were
amalgamated into this list.

The benefits are that everyone now has public access to see bug
reports that are submitted, in lieu of a better bug tracking
mechanism like bugzilla, also, the "xpert" list name turned off
many people who thought "xpert" was a single person self declared
expert, while others didn't want to "bother the experts, they've
got work to do", etc.

Another benefit is that now people on the mailing list also get
to see the bug reports, and get a chance to help other people
having problems out. The last couple days has shown that many
people are responding to other people's bug reports and helping
them. It seems to be doing good so far. ;o)

I can't help with your Trident problem I'm afraid though.
Perhaps the driver maintainer Alan Hourihane might be able to.
