Server error message log told me to write this address. In particular to send the erro log file. So I just blindly send it thinking someone will read it.
Apologies if I offended anyone by sending previous messages with attachement. I have hp laptop ze4210 and wish to use red hat linux 8.0 on it as well. I can only get it work with vesa driver for X. Windows XP HE reports the graphics system as PCI ATI rs200M chipset. I look at /proc/pci and I see ati vga card but I tried driver in XF86Config as "ati","radeon" and "atimisc" and X says that it cannot find device. When I did "X -configure" it says that card is valid but something is not in an appropriate file and I'm told to send output of "scanpci -v" output. I sent it in already and I can send it again.
