Hi to everyone. I'm sending this email as a last resource because I've been looking all around the mailing list archive and support pages around and I've never seen the issue covered at all. So here is my problem:
I have a Toshiba laptop (DynaBook V4/493PMHW) and XFree86 4.2.0 installed on a Debian 3.0 (Woody R1) 2.4.19 using some unofficial packages compiled for this distribution (the Debian official ones for Woody are version 4.1.0). My video card is a Trident Cyber ALADDiN-T (as it goes in the specs), but the Windows XP driver says "Trident Cyberblade XP ALi". I don't know if it really makes a difference. So I'm using the trident.o driver. So far, so good. As for the video output everything's fine, but when I type in any console or other application at a normal speed duplicate keystrokes appear. To avoid this I have to either type at three keystrokes per second, more or less, or either switch on the Gnome 2 keyboard accessibility feature to ignore duplicate keystrokes (it's called "Enable bounce keys") within 10 msec. Ann example oof not having the Gnomme bbounnce keys featuure enabled is here. Or typing really slowly now... :) However this problem doesn't happen with the VGA driver. I wanted to know if anyone has a clue about what can be happening. I also wonder if someone else has this problem, but I looked around the internet and haven't seen anything. It could also be because this laptop is from Japan and I'm not looking at Japanese support pages, but my Japanese proficiency is not that good (yet ;). Thanks for everything in advance. -- Alfonso Muoz-Pomer Fuentes <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> _______________________________________________ XFree86 mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://XFree86.Org/mailman/listinfo/xfree86
