I have a ATI Radeon 9000 PCI and have been playing around to see if I can find why its scrambing the X screen after a period, or locking the system when I run glxgears.
What I have found that may help is that when I put printk's in all the radeon*.c function for the kernel DRM driver, ultimately slowing it down, glxgears actually ran long enough to show 2 fps reports before locking the system. Also anyone with PCI patches for Radeon cards, please let me know where I can find them and yes I've tried the one that was reported in a different thread, http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected]/msg00372.html, but without success. Please help and I hope the info I have provided is helpful.
