  Above are all of the relevant details for my Bug Report.  After more
extensive searching I have found a solution to this problem -- it occurs
on both FreeBSD and NetBSD for certain and quite possibly OpenBSD.  I
have seen one report of similar problems for Solaris.

  It can be resolved by adding:

Option  "NoUseBIOS"

  to the device section of the XF86Config-4 file.  Is there any way that
this can be added as a default by xf86config and the other configurators
if the OS is detected as one of those mentioned above as I am sure it
will save a great many peole much hassle.
