I am running Vector distribution and I am getting the following error. Could not init font path element unix:/7100, removing from list!
Fatal Server Error: could not open default font 'fixed' I tried the resolution that another post had suggested but did not work, here is that fix. chmod a+r /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/misc/fonts.alias service xfs restart The first line goes through no problem, but when I attempt the service xfs restart I get: /sbin/service: line 81: /etc/rc.d/init.d/xfs: No such file or directory. When I reboot the machine and try startx I get the same error. Anyone have any suggestions.
