Yep, I have the problem, only it's my windows w98SE box that goes nuts. 
I checked the Belkin manual and its a known bug. Something with the
synchronization of the mouse/keyboard after the switch.  They recommend
unplugging the mouse from the switch (I was a bit appalled at that) to
cause the mouse to be reinitialized. I'm using their E series.  The
manual has F1DB102P F1DB104P and F1DB102P-B on the front cover.  If it
wasn't a very infrequent intermittent problem I'd probably send the
switch back to Belkin and demand my money back.
