Huh? Set your host name, silly. Put your ip address into /etc/hosts, followed by a space, followed by your host name. If you have a statically assigned host name, use it - if not, just make something up - "bob" will do.

Then try starting X.

And BTW, rh7.2 DOES have ext3 and I can't think of a single good reason to switch to 8.0 - wait for 8.2. :-)
