Dear sir,
Many apologies if this is the most obvious and
simple problem.
I am totally new to Linux but want to learn. I have tried to install Linux 8 publisher's Edition
from the 'Red Hat Linux 8 for Dummies' CDs.
This was supposed to install with the full GUI interface. All seemed to go well until the reboot after installation when it refused to start the graphical interface. I am struggling with the command line but have managed to copy the log file and attach it to this message. System: Made from second hand and salvaged
parts:
Supermicro 370SLM, Celeron 333MHz, 96MB RAM, 2.1G HDD, ATI Mach64 2MB, Unknown make 'Intelliscan' monitor works as VGA/SVGA on other systems, Samsung 32x CD, Generic network adapter, FDD, Genius netmouse pro PS2 mouse, PS2 keyboard. Thanks
