There was some discussion of this between Marc and Hui just before
4.3.0 was released. I believe the problem had something to do with
int10 and the BIOS on radeons when soft booting them. I think the true
resolution was put off until after 4.3.0 was released. I'm not sure
what the current status is of that fix. perhaps they can comment on
it.

Another thing you might try is putting the pci card in another slot or
changing the display init value in the bios from AGP to PCI or vice
versa.

-----------------------------------

I have been attempting to use two monitors with two ATI 7000 video
cards. 1 AGP and 1 PCI.
The hardware works with Windows XP.

I can successfully use one or the other monitor/card but when I try to
use both the x server crashes immediately.

My XFree86Config file works until I add a line like the following to
the ServerLayout Section
Screen "Screen 1" Rightof "Screen 2".

I have included a copy of my XFree86Config file and the log file below.

I have read everything I can find on the internet with google
pertaining
to this problem but can't solve this problem.
I am beginning to wonder if it is possible to do this.

I could admit defeat and replace the AGP card with a dual head card but
I don't like to give up.

Thanks in advance for any help or suggestions.

Don
