I've given up on getting the two ati cards to work and have replaced the AGP card with a Matrox G450. I have left the ATI pci card installed in hope of eventually getting a third monitor to work in Linux. BTW I tested the three monitor setup in Windows XP and it worked fine after some fiddling.
I invested way to much time on this - now I get to invest time on the Matrox card. >From what I've seen there seems to be very few posting on Matrox cards vs the postings on either ATI or nVidia. Thanks for your response. I tried the RedHat install mail list but didn't get any responses. I had actually given up hope of any help - obviously prematurely. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Alex Deucher" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Cc: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Sent: Friday, June 06, 2003 9:44 AM Subject: [XFree86] dual monitors ati radeon pci agp Fatal server error ... > There was some discussion of this between Marc and Hui just before > 4.3.0 was released.
