Hello I am trying to input characters from the extended ascii codes in a Linux/XFree86 4.02 environment (such as holding the alt key and typing 248 on the number keypad to produce the degree symbol). I am trying this on two different Sony Vaio notebooks (so the number keypad is activated by the Numlock) running SuSE 8.1 but cannot make it work nor find any clues in the docs about doing this.
