I have updated the kernel from 2.4.18-24.7.x to kernel-2.4.20-20.7 (RedHat 7.3, GNOME)
Now, when screensaver startup or I go to the configuration of screensaver, the Xwindows and keyboard don't work. I make ssh from another machime, and ps aux shows that "/usr/bin/X11/X :0 -auth /var/gdm/:0.Xauth" is using a lot of CPU. The CPU percent increases continuously. The problem only occurs with the new kernel. I have updated the kernel in a second PC, and the problem occurs too. I have also tried reconfiguring the X11 settings, without success. In both PCs the video display card is a ATI Radeon VE. How can I solve this problem?
