I'm sorry but I'm swamped ATM so I won't have much time to discuss your patches (besides, this particular one applies to the embed driver which I never used or got to know, others might be better in helping you out here). But this said, it seems that you are giving Xindice a serious look, and I know for certain how good you are in coding, so I would happily apply your patches while being blindfolded: given also that Xindice badly needs people like you, how would you like to get involved more and help yourself? :-)
