We're grateful for the great work (Xindice) that has already been done.
We've spent two years developing a (scientific data, domain specific) front
end to Xindice. It makes us feel a little nervous to have all our eggs in
one (at least temporarily) stalled basket.


Our best developer (Todd Byrne) encountered an Xupdate bug
a few weeks ago--that was a show stopper for us.  Todd submitted
a patch--that no one at Xindice has had time to address yet.
That leaves us holding what amounts to our own custom
branch of the Xindice codes.  That too makes me a little nervous.

Xindice is a great project. I hope for the best.
