Uh, me too. :) I inquired about embedded xindice a while back, but could
not figure out what to do with the CVS version due to lack of
documentation. I offered to document the solution when I was done, if
someone would only help get me started.

In any case, this is now, and I would still be happy to help out with the
embedded version. I adopted a makeshift approach, of using a lightweight
object database, which accepts queries via xpath. However, it's slow since
it doesn't do any indexing and doesn't support anything like xindice
collections. Furthermore, I imagine searching through the entire text of
xml documents would be incredibly slow for similar reasons. I would love
to be able to put my efforts toward a real solution. Maybe we could setup
another list to discuss the embedded version specifically, if only to
bring some visibility to the issue.
