I offered to document the solution when I was done, if someone would only help get me started. In any case, this is now, and I would still be happy to help out with the embedded version. I adopted a makeshift approach, of using a lightweight object database, which accepts queries via xpath. However, it's slow since it doesn't do any indexing and doesn't support anything like xindice collections. Furthermore, I imagine searching through the entire text of xml documents would be incredibly slow for similar reasons. I would love to be able to put my efforts toward a real solution. Maybe we could setup another list to discuss the embedded version specifically, if only to bring some visibility to the issue. Thanks, Dave
