an somebody clue me in on how to install the latest build of xlog on an ubuntu 7.1 box?

Actually, it's ubuntu 7.10. The '10' is for 'October'.
You need 'universe' enabled in /etc/apt/sources.list.

Then do "apt-get build-dep xlog". This will install everything you need to build xlog 1.5.

Now unpack the xlog tarfile, configure, make and make install.

I just used sudo apt-get install xlog and it worked just fine. Why compile?
