Greetings, Likely he's referring to having to enter the user name and password twice in each client - once for POP3 authentication and once for SMTP authentication. However, many clients have an option to use the POP3 credentials for SMTP authentication, which could alleviate this.
I agree that it's a pain to have to enter the credentials twice - especially when it comes time to change them and you have to tell the client to ensure they are changed in two locations. But I don't see how it could be done any other way, since anyone can fake a DNS name - which would leave your server open to anyone who wanted to spoof your DNS name.
