-m did the trick.
I was not aware that maildir was the default, I had got the impression that Maildir's was optional. /Allan -----Oprindelig meddelelse----- Fra: Kirk Friggstad [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] Sendt: 20. juni 2002 22:21 Til: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Emne: [xmail] Re: SV: Re: 452 mailbox full !?!? You mentioned that you used MkUsers, and that you have the "mailbox" directory under each user's directory - I assume you didn't use the "-m" flag on MkUsers, which creates a "maildir" directory instead. The default in XMail since way back when (0.67 or something like that) has been maildir support (at least in the Linux sources). If it's a fresh machine (no existing mail, etc.), try running MkUsers with the -m flag to create the maildir directories instead of mailbox directories. Otherwise, try building XMail with the MAILDIR #ifdef commented out in SvrConfig.h. I'm not sure why maildir vs. mailbox - in the changelog, Davide calls the mailbox format "proprietary" when he introduced the maildir support back in 0.61 or something like that... sounds like maildir is more widely accepted/supported? ______________________________________________________________ IRON Solutions, LLC - Kirk Friggstad SQL DBA / Project Manager 109 Saskatchewan Ave E. Nope, no maildir config ever. But interesting: Why would one use maildir instead of mailbox, what are the advantages/disadvantages. My production environment will be of a much smaller scale than yours ~1000 users in < 10 domains. /Allan -----Oprindelig meddelelse----- Fra: Kirk Friggstad [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] Sendt: 20. juni 2002 21:16 Til: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Emne: [xmail] Re: 452 mailbox full !?!? Hi Allan: I've think seen this behavior before - check to see if the previous installation had originally been configured to use mailbox instead of maildir. If so, try commenting out reference(s) to MAILDIR support in the #ifdefs section of SvrConfig.h and build XMail again. This is my trick - been using XMail since the late 0.6x series, and haven't had the time/inclination to convert my system to maildir (currently hosting just over 340 domains). Speaking of which... anyone have a quick-n-dirty way of changing an existing XMail installation from mailbox structure to maildir, including existing messages? -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]]On Behalf Of Allan Hansen, INBODAN Sent: Thursday, June 20, 2002 1:52 PM To: '[EMAIL PROTECTED]' Subject: [xmail] 452 mailbox full !?!? Hi all I am still in the process of testing Xmail. I have made a clean install of Xmail 1.9 on RedHat 7.3, and copied existing .tab files from another installation (1.8). Now I get this stange message when I try to send mail to a user on the Xmail server: "452 mailbox full.". I have no clue whatsoever why this is happening. There are no full mailboxes, there is plenty of diskspace and the users MaxMBsize is the default (10000). Anyone who can give me a hint?
