I edited the file & added the aliases, same as with 1.8. Contents of the
file below:

-----

"auston.com" "sing.auston.com"
"auston.edu.sg" "sing.auston.com"
"uiu-sin.edu.sg" "sing.auston.com"

-----

After reading your question above I decided to re-install & start from
scratch, seeing as there's a command in the admin protocol to add domain
aliases.

However I've been trying for over an hour to log in to the admin protocol
whatever it is without any success. I can get to the point where I need to
put in the user name and password. I've added those items in the
ctrlaccounts.tab file & was previously able to use the Windows "XmailAdmin"
program to add some users etc. so the ctrlaccounts.tab file is not faulty.
However when I try to log in I get a bad controller login.

I guess I've missed something but honestly I think the documentation is very
unclear and out of sequence. I'd write better documentation but right now I
don't understand the system well enough.

What I've done is as follows:

* Re-install XMail for the 4th time (using the rpm file)
* Add my user name and password (generated with XMCrypt) to the
  ctrlaccounts.tab file
* Restart Xmail
* do: telnet localhost 6017 (the admin program gives the timestamp etc. &
waits for input - all seems ok at this point)
* do: "username" "password" and hit enter

And I get a bad controller login

I've also tried putting a cleartext password in ctrlaccounts.tab but that
doesn't work either.

I guess that probably sounds dumb to you, but when the documentation doesn't
clearly outline how to get to the point where one is logged in to the admin
protocol I just have to keep trying stuff till something works.

Please outline how to get to the point of being logged in to the admin
protocol from when XMail is installed, including what should be done and what
should not be done. Part of the reason I've re-installed so many times is
that I've followed the sequence of instructions in the Readme, & found out
that I've done A, B, C and D when I should have done A, B, D and C, & had
problems because of it, and was unable to back out.

Thanks
