one point of interest,

I have zonealarm installed on the box, i shut it down as soon as i started
having problems , but that made no difference, but when you install any
other
service, it pops up a little dialog saying 'xyz is requesting permission to
become a server' , but its as quiet as a mouse when the xmail service is
installed.
this leads me to believe that the service is'nt being installed properly for
some reason.....

just uninstalled it, thats not the problem, doh!!!

the only thing i can see is that one box is win 2000 service pack 1
and the one that wont work is service pack 2,

if i get to the bottom of this I'll let you know.

Thanks

Sean
