I've been into php for almost quite a few years now,
The disadvantage in using php-smtp instead of sendmail is that
some mta's like some versions exim, gives timeout problems
while accepting mails.
But anyway I have already started using phpmailer
(phpmailer.sourceforge.net) instead of xmail's sendmail. :-)
