By the way, now that I have had time to read these links a bit more (a 
small Friday night party in my backyard got in the way), if you are 
running exchange, this article might actually help you!   Strangely 
enough, I was (possibly) more correct in pointing the finger at Windows 
(and the Windows DNS implementation, and Exchange) than I thought.

However, FreeBSD (my system of choice) was until recently opening and 
not closing hundreds of file handles because of a bug in the code, so 
lets keep this about solving the problem and not Windows.  The good news 
is that Linux and FreeBSD users can modify the code and recompile when 
problems come up!  Yay!  Whoops, there I go ... Anyway, check this out -
