Well there you go - you learn something new each day!!

I always thought that SMAIL was local (inbound) delivery.
I have located "SMTP" entries and can see they are what I'm looking for.

One thing I searched for in the smail logs was evidence of retries/rejects -
but it seems to only list successful outbound SMTP emails.

Davide, can you confirm this is the case?  However your response to Soenke
(below) suggests otherwise.

There's already a thorough log inside /smail/ for that.
