Hi all,
I recently evaluated a range of translators and
software capable of EDI and/or XML translations. Most
of them can only do about 80% of the job... If the XML
DTDs are straightforward then you may wanna look at
the foll:
Gentran Server 3.0 for NT, iPlanet ECXpert, St. Paul,
and Harbinger.
There are some high end integration solutions:
Mercator's B2B (Commerce Broker), or OnDisplay's XML
Server solution.. Sterling Commerce is known to work
with WebMethods providing a complete Real-Time B2B
integration..
Harbinger apparently has a solution for EDI-to-XML
leveraging OnDisplay's technology..
I just implemented Gentran Server 3.0 for NT with
XML-to-EDI outbound and EDI-to-XML inbound.. the
outbound is a bit tricky.. I find Gentran for NT to be
the most optimized (both usage and cost).. in addition
I have also implemented Flat-File to EDI and XML both
directions.. One great thing about Gentran NT is that
it can map directly from your Database Tables without
having the need to build a file out of your
ERP/back-end server..
The bad part is that Gentran is currently capable of
reading XML which have an EXTERNAL DTD and only DTD's
it doesnt recognize the XML Schema formats (as biztalk
uses for defining some EDI transactions in XML
format)..
Hope this helps..
