BTW, thanks for all the excellent responses to my previous query.

I have another question relative to the use of the DOCTYPE tag in
B2B eCommerce.  Do companies exchanging XML documents
traditionally use SYSTEM or PUBLIC type identifiers to identify
their DTD's?  From my reading, PUBLIC would seem to be better
from a performance perspective because it specifies a name that
can be used to consult an alternate (hopefully local) repository first.

This alternate repository is, I assume, specific to XML parser you are
using?
