I agree with Chris' comments and others about David's inappropriate and
uncalled-for response to Julie's post about the need for resources. I'm a
participant on many lists and most do allow posts of this nature, only
requesting that the poster do as Julie did and indicate the nature/topic of
the message in the subject header. Participants of the EDI-L list will
recognize this approach as a totally acceptable one.
Furthermore, just because a long time ago in the early days of this list it
was felt that posts of this nature were not desirable, that doesn't mean
that that decision is in concrete. Needs, ideas, and perspectives can
change. If this is an open list then consensus opinion should guide future
directions, not the dictates of one individual. I am not opposed to posts of
this type on this list in the future.

I've seen a lot of rude remarks emanate from this list, and while I don't
