Hello

I recently joined this group too. My company is preparing to exchange information via
XML/EDI. We have been exchanging information for years using flat files, but now we
wish to utilize the XML format.

My industry has defined the format of the files we will exchange and have provided the
DTDs.

I am responsibile for creating the program that will extract the data from the file,
validate it and plop it into the database.

I had decided to use a validating, event-driven, SAX compliant parser and started off
using IBM's SAX parser. However, I have found that it chokes on the DTD, and I'm not
sure why; I cannot see anything wrong with the DTD. Because of a time limitation, I
have decided to try another parser. The question is "Which one?"

I also thought that my experiences as I go through this project may be beneficial to
others and thought I would post here.

Does anyone in this group have any recommendations? Again, I am looking for an
event-driven, validating, SAX complaint parser.

Thank you for your help.

The human mind is the most fertile soil in the
universe.

What are you planting this year?
