This is more of a town hall meeting than a 'how to' or teaching session. The
'how to' stuff (designing schemas and DTDs, namespaces, expressing the
semantics of agreements) is what you'll find in the conference that's
donating the room for our use on November 13.

This is a community meeting -- an open, public forum for discussing where we
are taking XML, and how.

The meeting will start with an overview by several speakers describing the
role their organization (W3C, ISO, Java Community Process, etc.) and its
processes play in creating technologies and defining standards. We're going
to discuss whether we can satisfy the needs of those who want open,
freely-available specifications, open source code, ISO standardization, and
community processes, or all of the above.

After the invited speakers talk, we'll have a period for questions and
answers, and open discussion. That will enable you to express concerns about
whether localization needs are being met by existing specifications.
