Arvind, there is substantial work being done in this area by the ebXML
Initiative, a joint effort of OASIS and UN/CEFACT to develop a
standard global XML framework to enable interoperable XML-based
document exchange via the internet. Much information is at the ebXML
web site at http://www.ebxml.org.

Subject: Re: Public meeting (XML Community Process, November 13,
SanJose)

Ken:
I am heading XML based software development and professional
services firm in Pune India. We are working on global logistics
and global financial services, payment gateways, etc. for clients.
Will the forum on Nov 13 be a good forum to raise issues regarding how
to develop/
define XML documents/standards in areas which have significant local
variations
(logistics, banking, taxation, regulatory documents, etc.)?

I plan to be in US, and will see you in San Jose on Nov 13. Do people
suggest
some other discussion groups to discuss issues around global XML
documents?

Thanks
