Thank you for mentioning XML Convert.
XML Convert transforms flat files into XML and
vice versa. It handles a wide variety of flat
file formats, including CSV, fixed length,
semi-structured data (e.g., human readable
reports), etc. However, it wasn't designed to
transform EDI to XML.
