Actually, just this morning I received an e-mail ad from ZapThink offering
"The only authoritative, up-to-date report covering all 400+ XML standards
that have shaped the industry to date.

Updated quarterly, the ZapThink XML Report covers XML standards in the
following areas:

XML Core Standards (W3C, IETF, DISA)
XML Messaging Standards
XML-based Business Process Standards
Horizontal Application XML Standards
Vertical Application XML Standards
XML Registries and Repositories
Vendor-Originated XML Standards
XML-influencing Organizations and Associations"

The report fills 8 volumes.

RosettaNet is its own organization, for their XML Standard, UN/Oasis has
ebXML, OAG is an organization as well. There are proprietary XML standards
too, like Microsoft's BizTalk, xCBL from CommerceOne and cXML from Ariba.
None have been "adopted" as THE xml standard yet but some are becoming more
prevelant in certain industries. Hope that helps.

Hi everybody,

If EDIFACT is defined by UN and ASCX12 by ANSI, please let me know which
organization defines XML/EDI standards.
Thanks.

Regards,

Francisco.
