Any extensible XML architecture can be complicated and it is a trade off for
flexibility and power. We are still are using the xCBL 3.0 which uses the
Commerce One based SOX schema (which to my understanding was largely adopted
to create the WSDL standard - much more robust than DTDs) We do produce xCBL
3.0 based catalogs. This is headed towards becoming the UBL specification
which should make it an even more compelling "standard" than it is today. We
are often shipping catalogs back and forth between suppliers and more often
between marketplaces and in the long run this will provide the most
flexibility in my opinion. I don't think this requires any more technology
or complications than any other extensible WSDL like XML, though, it is
certainly not simple.

Have you tried the WSDL based xCBL 3.5 catalog structure.

Kelly,

This sounds VERY complicated. Assimulation of multiple
technology layers to get it working.

Is it? Has anyone got it working?

DW.
