David,

It's always been the priniciple that you have to create your own
activity here!

We know that fully 45% of members of the list are outside of N.America,
and as Alan noted, the Pacific Rim is a sizable percentage of that.

In the past members have posted messages such as :

meeting in Japan - all interested contact...

I suggest if you have a specific topic in mind, and locale, that
you send a general note outlining the details and work from there.

My experience is that members in Asia are more than happy to
help out with promoting XML/edi whenever they can.

However - I do not feel that ebXML is under-achieving in Asia.
In Australia there is a very large and active group, and also in
Korea and Japan their is activity at both government and
commercial levels. Taiwan is also forging ahead with
projects and of course Hong Kong / China has recently
announced a Registry implementation.

Over the summer we will be working on updating the XML/edi
site to include more tools so people can find out about these
efforts.

Right now however you can see a large selection of efforts from
this link:

 http://www.ebxml.org/implementations/

Thanks, DW.

Hello there

I see very little interaction from the members of the griup from Asia,
particularly, from Singapore/ANZ, though members HK and Korea have been
seen occassionally. I think, it is a good idea to get the members from this
region to come together and contribute through meetings etc. in the region,
both from a perspective of greater acceptance of the standards as well as
from an education point-of-view.

I would be happy to play a facilitating role, if needed.
