I am not clear how XXE manages it's caret position/insertion point, but when I scroll through a document using the scroll bars, the insertion point changes. I find this counter-intuitive and irritating. Is it a function of my stylesheets or configuration or is it fundamental to XXE? can it be changed?
Two examples of where it keeps biting me: 1. I am editing a document containing lots of text (e.g. docbook). I scroll up or down to view some other part of the document and when I resume typing the new text is inserted at some almost random point instead of where I was typing before. 2. In a long text node (e.g. a docbook programlisting element), I position the caret at the start of some text, scroll down and shift-click at the end. All the text on the screen becomes highlighted, but when I select copy I find that I have no more than the screenful because the start point has moved. Philip Nye
