Right. Many of our customers use Java[tm] Web Start to deploy XXE. However this feature has been disabled in free Standard Edition (for commercial reasons). Note that XXE deployed using Java Web Start is not strictly equivalent to XXE deployed normally. XXE/Web Start does not allow the user to customize her/his editor by adding configurations, dictionaries, plug-ins, etc. With XXE/Web Start, it is the system administrator, managing the HTTP server from which XXE is automatically updated, who decides what is good for mere mortals. > Theres talk of JNI issues with java and the new intel macs that Rosetta > doesn't work with, but I doubt theres any JNI stuff in XXE. That's true. XXE is a 100% Java[tm] application. It does not use any JNI, that is, native code, to do its job.
