I answered my own question in my previous mail through some trial and 
error. Thanks nonetheless.

I still don't understand the semantic difference between charTyped and 
keyPressed, however.

Thanks again for the nice software. I'm working happily with it, and 
I'll share my emacs bindings shortly.
