Hi,

first of all, thank you guys for xxe - the by far best xml (docbook)
editor I've seen!
Currently I'm working for a large OpenSource project (GIMP). My task
is to enhance the german documentation. The docu for GIMP is written
as multi language docBook. A toolchain is used to split up different
languages from it and to produce language specific html, pdf and
online help.
To keep all the development of the docu on track there are a couple
of rules how to format the xml of the docbook files. Good part of
that is that xxe complies to almost any of them. Bad part ist the
*almost* :(
para Elements need by GIMP rules to be formatted as

<para lang="xyz">
     content content content
     content content content
     content content content
</para>

but xxe formats them as inline elements like:

<para lang="xyz">content
content content content content
content content content</para>

which I had to agree, is far less readable if one uses vi(m) to edit it.

Is there any chance to change the style xxe writes the para element
to file? If not, do you have any tool in mind that could be used to
do a clean reformatting *and* follows the required GIMP formatting
rules?

Any help is appreciated,

sincerely A. Wernicke
