This enhancement has already been recorded in the User's Wish List as: --- If a user opens a document, makes a single modification and then undoes this modification, the document is nevertheless considered as being modified. Therefore, when the user closes such document or quits XXE, he/she is prompted to save it. --- See http://www.xmlmind.com/xmleditor/wish_list.html.
