Super - thanks so much. FWIW, I'm not sure your rewording of the choice doc makes it any clearer for me. For clueless folks like me, there's no substitute for explicitly stating the obvious. Maybe just a note that xxe can execute a command whose operation later fails due to external conditions. And of course an example like this is even better, if you really want to be clear.
P.S. Of course you're right that emacs works great on Windows. I'm not even sure notepad will handle UTF-8. If not, I may have to convince our Windows users to learn emacs...
