Eclipse plugin: probably no. SWT port: certainly no. Swing is clearly not a speedy GUI toolkit but we are almost sure that most our speed problems do not come from AWT+Swing. --- PS: If using SWT is mandatory to write Eclipse plugins, the anwer to first question becomes of course: certainly no.
