I want to download the latest version of Standard Edition to evaluate its
applicability to the DITA DTDs, but I had a question about the current
license. Under "Restrictions" is the following paragraph:
"The Software is confidential and proprietary information of Licensor.
Licensee agrees to protect the Software from unauthorized use or
disclosure."
Why does the license call XMLmind XML Editor Standard Edition (the
Software) "confidential and proprietary?" This is the rating my company
uses for business-critical materials they keep behind the firewall! I can
understand this statement for the source code in the Professional Edition,
but not for the object code only Standard Edition. This statement needs
explanation, please, for potential users and for users who have already
downloaded XXE SE and are using it in compliance except for this apparent
exposure.
Regards,
