It is difficult to answer to this type of question because our
development schedule depends on the features our customers are urgently
waiting for.

Next release 2.2 (which will probably be released next week) includes
the capability to edit a document on a remote FTP or WebDAV server, as
well as the integration of a XSLT engine and FO processors (a FO
processor is used through a plug-in).

Release 2.3 should allow to comfortably edit XML data as well as XML
documents (or a mix of both types of XML).

We are committed to implement *all* features listed in the roadmap
before end of year 2003. A simple support of multi-part documents should
be available during the first semester (no guarantee).

Note that advanced features may be only available in Professional
Edition. Therefore you may be disappointed if you are a Standard Edition
user.

For example, in XXE V2.2 Standard Edition, you cannot save a document to
a FTP or WebDAV server (though you can load a document from a remote
location, edit it and then save it to your local file system). The new
<process> command (somewhat similar to an ant task) which specifies all
the steps needed to transform the document being edited is also
``restricted'' in Standard Edition.
