Sorry but, for now, the answer is no. Adding support for multi-file documents (using external entity references or XInclude) is a planned feature. See http://www.xmlmind.com/xmleditor/features.html#planned Adding support for text and character entities is not a planned feature. See http://www.xmlmind.com/xmleditor/features.html#nonfeatures Having "&" replaced by "&" is a totally unrelated issue (which, I understand, may also annoy you).
